Will Rock Tamers Work On a 2018 Ford F-350 DRW Towing 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

We have a 2018 F350 DRW and would like to see about getting a set of mudflaps for the truck. We are towing a fifth wheel and concerned about the turning radius if we were to use a hitch mount Rock Tamer. Do you have any suggestions as to what kind of mudflaps that we can get as were planning a trip to Alaska.

In regards to a 2018 Ford F-350 DRW, the Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty, Adjustable Mud Flap System part # ERT00110 may reduce your turning clearance. I took a look at some of the reviews for this product from those towing a fifth wheel trailer and some reported reduced turning clearance whereas other did not. It really comes down to the trailer and how much room you have between the rear bumper and storage compartment so best thing to do is measure. The Rock Tamers on average will add about 3" to the rear of the bumper.

If the Rock Tamers will restrict your turning clearance too much, we still have an option in the WeatherTech Mud Flaps part # WT120074 for rear and part # WT110065 for front. I actually really like these and have installed a few sets myself. They have a very clean finished install look and appear factory to the untrained eye. They are also super easy to install and will still offer protection to your trailer.
