Installation of Kat's Heaters KH11812 Engine Block Heater for 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe w/ 2.0L Engine

Published 02/26/2020

Question:

I have looked in the RR position and can not seem to locate a hole in the block for the heater. Do you have a picture of where it goes or a better explination? it is a 2013 Santa Fe Sport with the 2.0L turbo

Disappointingly, Kat's Heaters was unable to provide any specific information on installation procedure or location over and above what's mentioned in the installation instructions which appear to have been incorrect. We did however have a customer who managed to complete a successful installation and sent along the procedure he used and some photos from the installation.

Here's the procedure he so graciously provided:

" I found that the location mentioned in the instructions is wrong. It does not go in the RR position. It in fact should go in the LS position. Instructions are as follows. Remove air box intake, remove connector and vacuum line and hoses connected to the inner cooler pipe and remove pipe. Remove wire harness stay just below lower rad hose. You will need to gently lift coolant hoses out of the way and grind about 1/4" from ear above transmission bolt blow block hole to allow heater to be inserted all the way. Direct heater under lower rad hose and into hole. Direct plug under battery and into location for easy access. Reinstall all parts and tighten clamps on inner cooler hoses. Pics attached"
