Question:

hello i have a 2007 honda fit and have read the previous articles based on the subject, but for the situation i am in i am not sure if i have everything i need. i will be towing from a multitude of different motorhomes, possibly other large vehicles and and possibly even switch out of the honda itself into another flat tow able vehicle if it decides to crap out on me. would like to know if there is anything else i would need, so far in the cart i have road master ez base plate road master falcon 2 tow bar hitch safety cables magnetic tow lights hi low adapter i am still debating which supplementary braking system to get for my situation any and all assistance is greatly appreciated thank you and have a nice day.

The best supplemental braking system for your situation is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR which is a portable braking system. The Patriot sits in the floor board of the 2007 Honda Fit and depresses the brake pedal when the motor home stops. It is compatible with power assist brakes so if you decide to switch to a hybrid tow vehicle in the future the Patriot will be compatible. However, I have checked the owner's manual for the 2007 Honda Fit and it looks like Honda does not recommend flat towing the Honda. It is possible that many people still flat tow the Honda Fit but but it is not recommended by Honda. If you take a look at the emergency towing instructions found in the owner's manual the procedure specifics are listed. Please keep in mind Honda will void the warranty if you have one.

Finally you may need a high low adapter to tow the vehicle level with the motor home. In order to know how much rise or drop it will require to tow level some measuring is required. I have attached a helpful article that helps you figure out which high low adapter may be needed and our selection of high low adapters. Please keep in mind if you are going to tow with multiple motor homes the rise or drop may be different for each.
