Updated 08/24/2020 | Published 02/20/2020

Question:

Thank you for this valuable information. So Im taking it as the first 2 from the stern should be self centering and the last 2 closer to the bow can be regular rollers?

With just a pair of the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers # CE29505 you'd be able to center the boat pretty easily on your trailer. You wouldn't need to convert all 4.

My current trailer has two 8" Keel rollers. Can I replace the front 8" keel roller with the CE Smith Self Centering 12" keel roller to aid getting my boat centered and still use the rear 8" keel roller? Front and back would be different widths?

The great thing about boat trailers is that you can really customize them to best fit your scenario. I don't think it really matters the width of your rollers just as long as they are positioned so that they help each other and aren't working as opposing forces.
