Question:

Can the ball assy. be inverted and stored under the hitch towards the front of truck? Can it be purchased with just 1 ball for clearance? My Ram 2500 is 24.5inch to top of hitch, top of trailer coupler at level is 16.5inch Concerned hitch might drag off road

I do have a solution for you but unfortunately the Flash Solid Steel HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA49-00-5925 doesn't have the ability to store the platform on the underside and this isn't available with just one hitch ball.

For a similar option we have the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BW54FR. This does allow you to store the hitch balls on the underside, it fits a 2-1/2" hitch receiver without an adapter, and you're able to lock the whole assembly to your trailer hitch with just one pin # C23025 for the hitch pin area.

We also have the Fastway Flash # FA44FR which is similar to the ball mount you asked about but it has a built-in scale and a different type of platform. This option doesn't allow you to mount the platform on the underside though and you'll need to use an adapter like part # BWRHXA2182 so it fits with a 2-1/2" hitch receiver.
