Is the Bare Metal Bracket On the Round Snap Ring Swivel Jack w/ Footplate Removable
Published 01/15/2020 >
Question:
Is it possible to remove the bare metal plate from the jack and reinstall the jack to the plate? I would be welding the plate to a steel bracket that is to be powder coated. I would not want to run the actual jack through the powder coat process. If the bare plate is removable, I could remove it, weld it to my bracket, powder coat the bracket, then reinstall the jack on to the plate. I hope this makes sense. Thanks,

Yes, the bare metal mounting bracket which gets welded to the frame that comes with the Round Snap Ring Swivel Jack w/ Footplate part # TJB-2001S-B is removable. In order to do this, there will be a snap ring that you must remove. If you have a pair of snap ring pliers that will be best but I have gotten them off with needle nose pliers before as well. The snap ring is hard to see as it's on the inside of the bracket but it does exist. Therefore, you can have the bracket powdered coated and then reattach the jack once welded to the trailer frame.
