Question:

I see there are a couple Curt trailer hitches that fit the non-diesel engine models of 2020 Mazda CX-5, the C12170 and C13315. Is there a big difference when comparing them? Like fit or install? Thanks.

The installation and fit of the two Curt trailer hitches that fit your 2020 Mazda CX-5 are exactly the same; I did a side-by-side comparison of the linked installation instructions and there is no difference at all between them. So the only difference is the size of the receivers:

- 2 Inch Receiver: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13315
- 1-1/4 Inch Receiver: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12170

Between these two I highly recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13315 with the 2 inch receiver because it gives you a much wider range of accessories such as bike racks and cargo carriers to choose from than a 1-1/4 inch receiver (both hitches meet the maximum towing capacity of a CX-5, which is 2,000 lbs or 3,500 lbs depending on your model - please see your owner's manual to determine yours).

Will our Draw Tite 78138 hitch from our old CX 5 work on our new 2020?

I wasn't able to track down any information on that hitch number. Can you tell me what specific model year your older CX5 was? I will say if you have the non-diesel model I recommend the Curt # C13315.
