Question:
Is there a clip that holds the cylinder housing to the box (Thule Mountaineer) ? The whole lock and housing is lose and is easily remove. How do I keep it from falling out of the box? Thank you,

The Replacement Lock Housing for Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock # 753-3725-02 is designed to replace the housing of the locks on of the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2, so you're not going to be able to use this part on your Thule Mountaineer cargo box.
I checked with Thule and unfortunately there is not a replacement lock housing available any longer for this box, so if that has been lost or damaged, you won't be able to install any lock on that box.
Since your Mountaineer may be out of commission, you may want to consider upgrading to a new cargo carrier. The Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box # TH615 will provide you with a great replacement option for your Mountaineer with similar looks, compatibility with a variety of crossbars and overall capacity (16 cu/ft). The Thule Pulse is 76" long x 33" wide x 16-1/2" tall and the aerodynamic, low-profile cargo box holds outdoor equipment and large luggage for up to 5 people.
I've linked a review video of the Pulse cargo box for you to have a look at, so you can see how it matches up to your Mountaineer.
