Question:
I need to replace axles on a small dump trailer and Im looking for 3500 lb or bigger w/brakes. My current axles are 89inch face-face and 70inch between the centers of the spring hangers. Is the Dexter 89/74 the closest axle to what I need or do you guys know of one that Id have to do less modification on to make it fit up? Also, can the spring hanger brackets be moved on those Dexter 89/74 axles, or is that not recommended?

The Dexter # 35545E-ST-89 axle would work very well for you, as it's definitely the closest to what you currently have. Once the existing spring seats were removed, they'd likely be pretty messed up. You'd be better off simply purchasing new ones, part # TRSS238 and welding them into place where needed.
You could go larger in weight capacity, up to a 5200 lb axle like # 8327820-EB, but if your current axles are 3.5K apiece, increasing the capacity of the axles won't increase the trailer's capacity. The suspension and possibly the structure of the trailer itself could limit the capacity. If you went this route, you'd also need to install new spring seats, part # TRSS300.
