Question:
could I put two 45 pound e bikes on the Sherpa?

I have a solution for you but the weight capacity of the Kuat Sherpa part # SH22G is 40 lbs per bike so it would not be ideal for your e-bikes. Instead Kuat has the NV Base part # BA22B which has a 60 lb per bike capacity that would work really well with your e-bikes that weigh 45 lbs each unless they have fenders.
If the bikes have fenders you'll need a bike rack that holds the bike by the frame instead like the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR which also has the weight capacity you'd need. I attached review videos for both racks for you to check out as well.
