Compatibility of Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack SH22G & Draw-Tite Hitch 75876 on 2015 Subaru Forester

Question:

I recently bought and installed a Draw-Tite Class 3 hitch for my 2015 Forester. Now I shopping for a bike rack for my set up, maybe a christmas present from me to me. Will the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 work with this set up?

The dimension to keep in mind as you consider your preferred hitch-mount bike carrier is the distance from the hitch pin hole to the rear edge of the bumper cover. This hitch installed on the 2015 Subaru Forester is positioned such that the hitch pin hole is 5-inches forward of the rear edge of the car. So, this means you'll want to choose a hitch rack that offers at least an inch of additional clearance, or no less than 6-inches of clearance from its hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack. This will ensure that there is no contact between the carrier and the car.

The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G is a superb choice. This carrier, even when folded up in its storage position, offers 9-inches of clearance. When in the down position for carrying bikes it has 13-inches of clearance, which is plenty for the rack itself and that allows a fair amount of space for the near side of the first loaded bike.
