Converting From Electic Drum Brakes To Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Question:

Im looking into converting a gooseneck trailer with 10000 lbs dexter axles and dual tires to hydraulic disc brakes. It currently has 12 1/4inch x 4 electric brakes with a 8 bolt 61/2inch circle hub w 5/8inch studs. What all components will I need to make this conversion possible?

To convert electric drum brakes to electric-over-hydraulic disc brakes you will need disc brake assemblies, a brake line kit and an electric over hydraulic actuator.

For disc brake assemblies, the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R1058D13 kit is what I recommend. To determine the correct brake line kit you will want to measure the distance from your actuator to the front axle. The kits are measured in the distance from the actuator to the front axle. For a 20-ft, 24-ft, or 25ft brake line kit I recommend part # HS496-252.

If you do not have a breakaway kit installed I recommend a kit like part # 20099. The # HBA16 is a compatible actuator and a brake controller I recommend is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 if you don't already have one.
