How To Use the Yakima Big PowderHound on Factory Crossbars

Question:

Hey guys- Im looking for an alternative to Yakima Universal mightymount, but cant find the dimensions of all the different models out there. Im looking for a mightymount to attach my Big Powderhounds to a stock 09 BMW crossbar. The bars are oval, measuring 2 5/16 inches just a little over 2 1/4 wide by 1 1/2 inches top to bottom. Need to be vertical mount. They are a little fatter than a lot of the blade styles out there. Hopefully you can find something that will work. Thanks in advance!

In order to mount the Yakima Big PowderHound on factory crossbars you will need to use the Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories part # Y03590 which will accommodate factory crossbars up to 4" wide or 1-1/2" tall. Therefore, the factory crossbars on a BMW which measure 2-1/4" wide x 1-1/2" tall will not be an issue.
