Correct Reese Goose Box for Lippert 1716 Model Pin Box on Trailer
Updated 12/02/2019 | Published 11/29/2019 >
Question:
Draw-Tite 94622 vs Reese RP85FR I have a Lippert #1716 on a 2014 Ceder Creek Silver-back 29 RE and have a problem deciding between these pinboxes to convert to gooseneck. My truck is a 2007 GMC 3500 Duelly with a Draw Tite 4506 6300 gooseneck. WHAT is the difference for a 16k pinbox VERY confusing with them wipping all the names , modles and numbers ,tryng to baffel you with BS.

The correct Reese Goose Box to replace the factory Lippert 1716 model on your Cedar Creek Trailer is the part # RP94716-61301, This is essentially the Reese # RP85FR Goose Box that you were looking at but with an added spacer kit to make it compatible with the Lippert 1716 brackets and bolt pattern. The spacer kit is also available separately with part # RP61301.
I do understand the confusion over the different part numbers out there. The 94622 model that you referenced also seeing is just the older version of this same Goose Box. The Reese # RP85FR model replaced this unit in the Reese/Draw-Tite line but there is likely still stock available of the older version out there so it just adds to this confusion.
I have attached a short video review on the Reese # RP94716-61301 that you can check out below along with the written installation manual.
