Difference Between Direct-Connect and Crossbar-Style Base Plates for 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Hello. I am looking for the right Roadmaster base plates for my 2020 Jeep Unlimited to use with my tow bar. I see two different models that will fit, a "direct-connect" and a "crossbar-style". What is the difference. Is one better than the other? Thank you for the clarification.

You are right that both the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5 and Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-4 are confirmed to fit your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The difference between the two models is simply how they are designed to attach to a tow bar.
The Direct-Connect Base Plates can connect directly to the arms of a compatible Roadmaster tow bar, without the use of a crossbar like what comes with the Falcon 2 # RM-520 or directly to a model that doesn't include one such as the Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-677. This just allows for a cleaner overall setup and appearance.
The Crossbar-Style Base Plates on the other hand do require the use of a crossbar when connecting to the tow bar. If you are used to this type of setup then it's not too big of a deal but if you are open to change I recommend going with the Direct-Connect for a simpler hookup process.
