If you are using a weight distribution system such as the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System part # HT32218 with an electric trailer jack such as the Electric Jack w/ Footplate part # EJ-3520-BBX then you can use the jack to remove tension from the spring bars before they are disengaged so this is easier to do. The jack can also be used to make the spring bars easier to re-engage as well.
