Question:
I have an aluminum flatbed on my pickup. The taillights/brake lights are 6inch oval incandescent. If I switch to LED do I need to install resistors to avoid rapid flashing?

Expert Reply:
Yes, when switching to LED taillights on a vehicle that will be replacing the turn signal circuits you'll need load resistors like # DI34ZR so that the heat operated flasher unit will flash the blinkers at the correct speed.
The other solution is an electric flasher unit which we don't carry. With these you also lose the audible click you hear when the blinker is on.
