Question:
I was wondering if there are any issues that I would run into if I swapped the male 7 way plug on the trailer side to a female end so that I could have a removable double male wire between the car and trailer. I just want to clean up the look of the trailer. I know I would probably have to rewire the female end on the trailer so it mirrored the car side, but would there be any other issues that I would run into? Anything that would be dumb or dangerous about having a removable wire? Thanks in advance.

It is possible to use a a female 7-way plug on the trailer if you wanted to using part # 30717 and then using an adapter Bargman 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector - Double-Ended part # 50-67-210 to connect the two plugs. As long as you wire the female plug to match the wiring functions of your vehicle side you won't have any issues. However the adapter would need to stay with the trailer if you ever wanted to tow it with another vehicle because most trailers have a male end connector and vehicle's have the female end.
Another option is to use the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 24" SuperTruss Hitch Extender - 7-Way RV part # TLW6024 and plug the existing male plug into the female plug on the extension. The other male end would plug into your vehicle's 7-way. I think the first way would look cleaner though.
