Question:

Will I need to purchase light kit e98943-44LED with the 24X60 folding cargo carrier on my 2009 Toytota Highlander Hybrid? Do I need to purchase any additional hardware since I am having a mechanic install the unit on my SUV?

You do not have to install the Cargo Carrier Light Kit # e98943-44LED on the 24x60 Folding Cargo Carrier # e98874 in order for it to be used on your 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. It is a judgment call, if you think that the cargo carrier would not block the view of your tail lights then I would not worry about it. Otherwise I would recommend you get it.

I would also recommend you check your local laws and regulations to determine if there is a legal requirement for you to have a light kit on a cargo carrier.

A lot of it depends on the location of your tail lights in relation to the cargo carrier and what you plan on putting in the cargo carrier and whether or not it will obstruct the tail lights.
