Adding a tail light kit to a cargo carrier like the 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier # C18151 is a great idea for better visibility, but isn't required unless the cargo that you are carrying happens to cover your tail lights.
If this is the case then I recommend using the Tail Light Kit # 98174LED, along with 2 Brackets # BK70BB using Self-Tapping Screws # FA1131822. This kit will plug into the 4-Way connector at the rear of your 2014 Honda Pilot. If you do not already have a 4-Way connector then I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118558 which comes with everything you need.
A Stabilizer Strap # 18050 isn't required unless the manufacturer of your trailer hitch receiver requires it for the warranty as some of our Curt hitch receivers do. You can use a strap regardless to add some more stability in addition to a Locking Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin # 63232. This combination will help to reduce any movement that the cargo carrier will make as you are traveling.
I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well.
