Question:
2016 f150 I am wanting to add a trailer plug that allows me to tow with trailer brakes. I will also need a controller. I attached a picture of the plug it currently has. Seems my 4 way shares a harness with my tag lights. Thanks for the info

Thanks for the photo, and though we are not familiar with what it shows, based on what you said you do have a 4-way, which is all the info we need to get you the exact parts for wiring and a brake controller.
The first thing you need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7-way connector, circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller.
Then for a brake controller I highly recommend for your '16 F-150 is the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR because it is both highly effective and keeps a bulky unit out of the cab of your truck. The Redarc uses a small control knob you can mount wherever is convenient, and there is even a Universal Mounting Panel for Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 you can use. The knob not only keeps the main unit out of sight, but also makes the controller very easy to use.
The Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR is proportional, meaning it responds to your F-150's deceleration for responsive braking. You will need the Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-TPH-007 for the installation as well.
I have added links to video installs and a help article for you as well which I highly recommend reading.
