Question:
Kwikee 32 Series Electric Steps LC3722615 - I installed the Kwikee Electric Step replacement on my 2014 Thor Tuscany XTE Motorhome. Things went according to plan, but the step operation is backwards from what it should be. The wiring configuration on the 4-pin connector going into the motorhome power matches the configuration of the previous steps and the yellow, red, white and brown wires matching across the connector. When the step switch is turned off, the new step operates as if it is on, except it retracts when the door is opened and extends when the door is closed. When I turn on the step switch the step extends when the door is closed, but they will then remains out as if the switch is off. When I start the unit and the door is closed the step extends out and remains out - obviously it cant be driven that way. The E-Trailer product video indicates a door magnet switch is included with the shipment, but there was not one in my box, so it still has the switch from the previous installation which was replaced once a few years ago. It does not seem logical to me that would be the problem, but I havent been able to figure out what it is. Can you offer any suggestions?

Thank you for the purchase! Since your steps are operating backwards, the issue is likely the reverse polarity of the motor. What you should do is try reversing the red and yellow wires to reverse the functions so the steps aren't out.
Additionally, the Kwikee 32 Series Electric RV Steps # LC3722615 does not actually come with the switch kit, however; for that you need the Rocker Switch with Door Sensor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - 250V # LC369311.

I have installed the kwikee #888 to replace Kwikee #874. I have matched the color codes from the Original #874 to the color codes of the #888. The steps extend when the door is closed. When I use the switch inside the motorhome, the steps stay extended. When I turn on the ignition switch, the steps stay extended. What do I need to do to fix this?
