Updated 07/24/2019 | Published 07/23/2019

Question:

Hi , this question has been asked previously, but the answer does not fit the problem. I should for the seal is 1.50inch and the kit recommended is for a smaller dia. shaft. Has this been answered elsewhere? I have a BTR spindle as its referred to and the I.D. of the seal is 1.5inch and the O.D. is 1.98. Im also looking for the spindle wear ring/seal to fix a rough seat. Replacement Spindle Grease Seal Set for L44649 Bearings and 1.980 Hub Bore Question: Hi there Im looking for for the rear hub seals for my jet ski trailer , I have bought the seals from you guys before. It uses bearings L44649R and the hub bore is 1.980. Have a small issue with water leaking as the spindle is worn where the seal rubs, I was hoping to fix this by using the seals with the stainless wear ring. Having trouble locating the correct size . Shaft is 1 1/16 and location on spindle where grease seal rubs Is 1 1/2 inch measured 1.4980 vernier Please advise Thanks and Regards

Expert Reply:

For marine applications the best type of grease seal is a "double lip" seal which has a rubber spring that wraps around the seal to help hold it tight to the spindle so that it doesn't leak water. So for a double lip seal that fits the dimensions you need for your hub that fits on a BTR spindle you'll want the part # RG06-020. This has an inner diameter of 1.5 inch and an outer diameter of 1.987 inch which matches what you need.
