Recommended Stabilizer Jacks for a Rpod Trailer

Updated 01/31/2026 | Published 01/27/2026

Question:

Good afternoon, I have a customer that has a 2022 Rpod and his stabilizer jacks were damaged in a wind storm here in Colorado. He wants heavy duty jacks so on the back, I found 24inch rated a 4500lbs, but on the front, I cant find anything in a 18inch jack rated more than 2500lbs. How much difference in metal thickness between the two sets of jacks? Do you have any 18inch that is rated higher? I think its overkill for a Rpod trailer. He just doesnt want a thin metal stabilizer. Thanks

Hey Doug, welcome back! The Leveling Scissor Jack - 24" Lift - 5,000 lbs item # JSC-24-IND and the Scissor Stabilizer Jacks - 18-3/4" Lift item # TJSCHD-24 are going to be made of the same 14 gauge steel. The difference in capacity has to do with the pressed grooves and folded edges in the support arms. Dimensionally they're the same size.

All of our 18-3/4" lift jacks like the item # TJSCHD-24 pair are going to top out at 2,500 lbs.

If you're going for overkill, I recommend the etrailer Scissor Stabilizer Jacks w/ Handle and Drill Adapter item # e74RV. This is a set of four 7,500 lbs scissor jacks that have a 24" Lift. They're made of higher quality structural steel. This kit includes two drill bit adapters and two crank handles.

Hey Jerred, I talked to the customer and he's ok with the TJSCHD-24s for the front and I got him the 24" 10,000lb capacity for the back. Definitely overkill in the back, but that's what the customer wanted, so that's what he gets. Thanks. Also, being a rv repair shop, I order a lot of parts through you and i'm very satisfied with the service. Thanks again.

@DougL You're welcome! Definitely overkill but so long as they're happy and feel safe! Thanks for the kind words. We're glad to have you! If you have any questions down the road do not hesitate to reach out.
