Can Air Springs Be Added to 2018 Ram 2500 to Increase Towing Capacity

Updated 07/09/2019 | Published 07/07/2019

Question:

I have Ram 6.4 Hemi 2500 short bed with rear coil springs that has a max towing capacity of 12,450lbs. If I add Airlift air springs to my truck will that help me out to increase 5th wheel towing capacity to a couple thousand pounds and not hurt the truck frame? I know 2500 have 3500 frames but dont want to do harm. Thanks

Adding air springs like the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57289 to your 2018 Ram 2500 will enhance the factory suspension so that it can better handle weights within its capacity but it will not actually increase this limit. This will be the case with any aftermarket product. Unfortunately there is nothing you can add to your Ram to increase its official from-the-factory capacity from the 12,450 pound number you mentioned.

The Air Lift LoadLifter Air Springs will do a great job of keeping your truck level with a trailer hooked up or heavy cargo loaded into the bed while reducing the strain on the factory suspension to allow for a longer lifespan. Its adjustable design allows you to have a comfortable ride regardless of your application.

I have attached an installation video that you can check out as well.
