Using SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs In Place of Shock Kit on Trailer

Question:

I have a 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2670MK with dual Dexter D44 4400lbs axles and I have been working on upgrading the suspension since it has 9000 miles and I would imagine the original parts are already worn out. I am trying to stabilize the trailer and make it handle rough roads better. I have already ordered the Dexter E-Z Flex equalizer from you and as soon as the dealership gets a bad axle replaced they will get installed. I was also considering adding shocks but I only have 3inch of clearance between the tire and frame so the Lippert shock kit wont work so that leaves me with either the Roadmaster Shock kit or these. The SumoSprings seems like a lot easier install than the Roadmaster Comfort Springs as long as they will also function as a shock. I know they help stabilizer the trailer and reduce sway but will they also function like a shock to help stop bounce? If not, what would you recommend? Thanks for your time,

The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40 are a great alternate solution to the Lippert Shock Kit that you mentioned when you don't have the needed tire to frame clearance. The jounce-style urethane springs will essentially act as shock absorbers to take a lot of the jolt out of bumps and rough roads and will definitely work to prolong the life of your suspension. Because they won't be constantly engaged like traditional shocks they aren't going to have quite the same effect with regards to dampening axle movement but it is your best alternative.

These springs paired with the Dexter E-Z Flex system you are having installed are going to drastically improve the trailer's suspension setup and I think you are going to instantly notice a big difference when pulling the trailer around.
