Question:

Hi, I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500. When I tow our enclosed cycle trailer which has a 8,000-10,000# tow rating on a sustained incline for several minutes or longer, every time the engine temperature and transmission temperature increase dramatically. The engine runs hot or even on borderline overheating depending on the duration of the sustained incline. I have looked at many different products on the internet and on your website. I have attached a list of parts that I recommend for your 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 to help with cooling both the engine oil and transmission fluid while towing.

1/2" Barb to 1/2" Barb Union Fitting part (Local Auto Parts Store)

I switched the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13960 out for the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D15960 because the 3/8" lines included with the part # D13960 can create issues if you have the Allison Transmission therefore the 1/2" lines are needed for this. If you don't have the Allison Transmission you can use either. I also added some extra line and hose clamps for you because you will need this to mount the coolers which I assume will be somewhere under your truck bed. The only other thing you will need that we do not offer is the union fittings to attach the 1/2" lines so you can mount them under your bed using the extra hose.
