Question:
What is the difference between class IV and class V ?

Expert Reply:
The higher the Class of transmission cooler the more efficient it is and the more cooling capabilities it has. Basically, the Class of a cooler is supposed to reflect the Class trailer hitch you have. So if you have a Class III hitch you would use a Class III cooler.
But you can use any cooler that you want and going with the largest or most efficient cooler that will fit is actually recommended because transmission fluid cannot be over cooled. I have included a link to our help article on transmission coolers for you.
