Could Lower Voltage for Furrion Camera Cause it Not to Pair with Monitor

Updated 06/18/2019 | Published 06/17/2019

Question:

This camera was working fine 2 days ago with my 2014 GMC Sierra. Just bought new truck 2019 Chevy Silverado, and now no signal. Running lights are on, power blue light emitting from the camera, and I can hear the camera make a repetitive noise. Camera wont pair with wireless setup but works when connected to the monitor wire. Tested the power to the shark fin wiring harness and I am only reading 10+ volts. Is this my problem, not getting a full 12 volts?

The problem is most likely the low voltage for the power wire of the camera. Are you testing this with the engine running or just the key on in your truck? If the it's just the key being turned on most likely your battery is just not able to get all the voltage back to the camera without the help of the alternator. Try again with the engine running.

Or you can try a jumper wire from a vehicle battery to see if a direct connection with higher voltage fixes the problem. With longer runs of wire voltage typically drops off due to resistance.
