Do Trailer Tires and Wheels Need to be Balanced
Updated 06/18/2019 | Published 06/17/2019 >
Question:
Hi. I purchased two of these and noticed they did not have any weights attached. I called and was told they do not come balanced. I went and had them balanced at s tired shop. I read here that they come balanced and ready to go. My question is, now that I have them balanced, will I run into problems?

Expert Reply:
Trailer wheels and tires don't generally get balanced. The ride difference isn't ever really noticed so in nearly all cases it simply just not needed. There's nothing wrong with having them balanced but typically since trailer suspension is a bit rougher than vehicle suspension the weights bounce off.
