Pulse Preventer for Draw-Tite Activator Trailer Brake Controller

Question:
So I cut the blue wire and tested it with a tester. it lights up when I push the brake pedal and also with the lever on the controller. It also will light up if the truck is running and the 4 ways are on. Is this the controller or should I be looking for corrosion or something on my plug area?

If you have need to use your flashers (hazard lights) when towing with the Draw-Tite Activator Trailer Brake Controller # 5504 it can be necessary to use a Pulse Preventer # 5501.
Often when towing with hazard flashers on the controller's digital display will flash along with the hazard flashers. If the brake control is set aggressively, pulsing may be felt in the trailer brakes. The Pulse Preventer will isolate the brake control from the flashers and eliminate the flash/pulse situation.
The Pulse Preventer is not necessary for vehicles that have a different bulb for the stop and turn signals (amber turn signals).
