Will the B&W Custom Installation Kit For a 2019 Ram 1500 Work with a Reese 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

I own a 2012 ram 1500 5 1/2 foot bed truck. I am considering buying today a 2019 ram 1500 with a 6 1/2 foot bed. Will my reese hitch work with these rails? Also, i own the reese sidewinder and am wondering with the new length of bed would i have clearance issues between bumper and 5th wheel now? Will i need a new hitch, or is that sidewinder compatible with both bed lengths?

Yes, your Reese 5th Wheel Hitch will work with the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails part # BWRVK2604 which is a fit for a 2019 Ram 1500 with the 6-1/2' bed. If you have a Reese Sidewinder, you can reuse this with your Reese 5th Wheel Hitch on the new 6-1/2' bed. You would still need additional clearance in order to make a full 90 degree turn and that is what the Sidewinder will allow for.
