Question:
Is the Blue OX BX8848 4 diode taillight wiring kit compatible with a 2008 Ford Taurus X? Using the Brake buddy, will there be a issue when the brake buddy presses the brake pedal and the brake lights come on? Will I need to remove the fuse for the brake lights using the Blue Ox BX8848 kit?

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit - 4 Diodes # BX8848 will work well for your 2008 Ford Taurus X. When using the BrakeBuddy # HM39530 you won't need to use a relay or anything to change the functions. It is a simple installation with no additional fuses, bypass systems, or relays needed. You will not need to remove fuses to tow. The only thing you need is a 4-way connector to install on the wiring harness so it can plug into the Brake Buddy. Part # HMC20031 will work fine.
It is recommended to run the engine for at least 5 minutes prior to a trip and every 4-6 hours to circulate the fluids in your Taurus to reduce wear when towing. It is also not recommended to tow above 65 mph and there are procedures outlined in your owners manual that need to be followed.
