Question:
I have a 2009 RAV4 sport edition/appearance, with run flat tires and no spare tire mount on the back. They gave me a full sized spare anyway, and it’s currently sitting in the back taking up space. I can’t seem to find a rear mount and wondering if it exists, and if not I’m wondering which roof rack would be best to mount a tire onto. Crossbars are already installed

We do have spare tire carriers like the Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010 which can be added to vehicles but this is a universal type of carrier so you would need to mock up the product dimensions (7/8 x 6-1/2 x 23-5/8) and see if and how that would allow you to mount your full-size spare under your 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport. Unfortunately we don't carry anything that would let you mount the tire to your rear door.
For an option that doesn't require as much math and testing I recommend using your roof rack to haul your spare tire. To accomplish this you can use the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket # Y07070 and the Spare Tire Carrier # Y07076. I have attached a video of this on a 2012 RAV4 that you can reference.
Since your spare tire will constantly be exposed to the elements (especially the sun) I highly recommend using a spare tire cover. I'm not sure what exact size tire you have but the Rampage Spare Tire Cover # RA772901 is a great option that fits tires with a 27" - 29" diameter (I believe your tire should fall within this category). This black cover has a UV-resistant, 19-oz Jeep soft top vinyl fabric which gives you confidence in the construction of this cover. Attached is a review video for you to reference.
