How Much Does Each Part of the Equal-i-zer 10K System Weigh

Question:

Hi, how much does the 1,000/10,000 hitch weigh? How much of that is the brackets that attach to the trailer? Does the entire weight regardless goes onto the tongue weight effectively of the trailer?

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37100ET has a total weight of around 100 lbs but it is broken down into three components that will be installed separately of one another; the head/shank which weighs around 45 lbs, the spring bars which weigh around 15 lbs each, and the frame brackets which weigh around 5 lbs each. The only parts you will need to pick up and attach each time are the head/shank and spring bars. If you perceive to have trouble lifting the head and shank up then we have the perfect product for you in the HitchGrip Carrying Tool for Weight Distribution Head Assembly part # 303-HG-712.

I will say that most weight distribution systems will be fairly heavy but I think the performance of the Equal-i-zer system in particular will far outweigh the extra weight you have to pick up each time. Please note that this system has a forged head and I am not aware of another system that does. This means it will weigh a few more lbs but it will also be much more durable.

The weight of the weight distribution system does not count towards tongue weight as it becomes part of the vehicle's frame.
