Height and Length of Curt Premium 5-Bike Rack # C18065

Question:

I am looking into using the Curt d210 and c18065 to carry my wife and my bikes and my 3 kids bikes. Are there any printed measurements for length and height of the bike cradles so I can try to make sure it will clear my propane tanks and front wall of my trailer

The overall length of the Curt Bike Rack # C18065 is 40 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out and then from the top of the shank that inserts into the hitch to the center of the arms where they meet the mast is 37 inches.

What is the length from the fastening hole that will plug into motorhomes 2 by 2 female trailer hitch to the vertical arm going up to the dual arms to fasten bikes to? Can I use a 7 extender to make this longer? How will a 7 extension effect bike carrying capacity of rack? Thanks.

From the hitch pin hole to the vertical mast there is a distance of 10". I wouldn't add a hitch extender to this setup because it would create a pretty unstable ride for the bike rack. It will also cut your hitch capacity in half. We don't have a 5 bike (motorhome approved) bike rack available with a longer shank.

Do you have a 4 bike motorhome approved bike rack with a longer shank. I need about 13 as trailer hitch is under the motorhome that far. IF I use hitch extender I plan on using left & right side heavy straps from bike rack to motorhome to stabilize it. I do not plan on any long trips & I would check it often. Thanks

The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR, which is RV approved, features a distance of 13-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright mast. It sounds like this will give you the bumper clearance you need on your motorhome. It's also just a really nice carrier.
