Expert Reply:
The brake controller port on a fifth generation 2019 Ram 1500 is located behind a trim piece on the center dash panel which I have attached a photo of for you. For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885.
The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 is extremely reliable and even if something were to happen not necessarily to the brake controller, it has diagnostic checks to help you find out what the issue is and safeguards to protect your vehicle, trailer and the controller if it were anything serious. The other reason that people like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller so much is that has a very easy to read display which can be a major issues on some brake controllers.
In order to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 on your 2019 Ram 1500 you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3024-P.
