Question:
How do you remove the slide out motor?
asked by: Phil
Expert Reply:
The floor slide out motor like # LC387523 is normally removed with just a socket wrench. Some motors are not separate from the gear assembly so you need to replace the entire assembly. Others have a separate gear box and the motor itself can be removed.
If you have an in-wall motor like # LC236575, then you will pull back the rubber trim and then push up on the motor toward the wiring plug. When the motor comes loose only requiring about 1/2 inch lift and then tilt it out at the bottom and then pull the motor out. If you can't access the motor in this way, then you will need to remove the housings all the way around the motor to give you access. The older models require removing a bunch of screws to give you access to the entire assembly to remove the motor.
