Hi, I have a 2009 Mazda CX-9 and previously purchased the Curt Class III hitch receiver item # 13575 from you. I am upgrading to a 2019 CX-9, and wanted to see if the same hitch receiver is compatible, or if I need a new one. thanks

Your brand new 2019 Mazda CX-9 will require a new trailer hitch. The Curt Class III Hitch # 13575 you currently have installed on your 2009 CX-9 is only compatible with this vehicle up through the 2015 model year.

Based on my research it looks like the CX-9 went through a generational change for the 2016 model year and there were enough differences to the rear of the vehicle that a new hitch fitment was needed.

For your 2019 Mazda CX-9 the Curt Class III # C13284 will work perfectly. It will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation, features a nice hidden-crosstube design, and like your current/previous Curt hitch, it was made right here in the USA. I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
