Is Rise/Drop Figure for Weight Distribution Shank Standard Between all WD System Brand Heads

Updated 03/25/2019 | Published 03/22/2019

Question:

Shank, item #AMAC1, states that with a Trunnion type hitch it should have a 2-5/8 inch . I have a Reese Straight Line load leveling hitch. The max measured is 1-7/8 inch. What is wrong here. Picture attached.

The issue is that while the heads of standard weight distribution systems can attach to the cushioned shank part # AMAC1 the relative location for where the ball is mounted isn't always the same between manufacturers. This unfortunately means that the rise/drop figures that the shanks list won't always be an exact figure.

We have the Curt shank part # C17123 which has 10 adjustment holes compared to the 7 of the Convert-A-Ball so it would give you additional drop if that's what you are looking for.
