Question:
I need your help with which model of Blue Ox is correct for towing my 2018 Lance 1685 GVWR = 5500 lb with my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Two capacity is 6200 lbs. Is the BXW0550, the BXW0553, the BXW0556 or a different model the best match for my vehicles? Thanks,

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
With the towing capacity of your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the weight of your trailer at 5,500 lb in mind the best Blue Ox option is the part # BXW0753. This system has a tongue weight range of 550 lbs - 750 lbs which will be right since tongue weight is typically 10-15 percent of total trailer weight.
