I was told not to use this type because of the newer truck beds are made out of aluminum any thoughts

You can use the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs # HSBP with the aluminum bed on your Ford pickup but you would want to remove them frequently. If you are planning on keeping them installed for a long period of time then you will want to go with part # HSSF instead which is the exact same tie-down just with a black powder coat finish.

The zinc plating on the steel will react with the aluminum a lot quicker than the black powder coat will wear off of the other tie-downs. If you will be taking them out fairly frequently though either option will work just fine.

Another option is to use camper tie-downs that install on the frame. If you let me know the year and model of your Ford pickup as well as the bed size and if you have an OEM trailer hitch or aftermarket trailer hitch I can help you find some for your specific application.
