How To Prevent Vehicle Sag and Sway on a 2002 Ford F-250 with In-Bed Camper

Updated 03/11/2019 | Published 03/09/2019

Question:

I have a 2002 Ford F250 Supercab 4WD, 8 ft bed, 7.3L diesel with factory helper springs on rear. I will be hauling a slide in camper with total weight of 3,400 pounds plus about 500-700 pounds on the hitch. Will the FRTT350E system increase the total load capacity to be very sufficient for camper and trailerand will it help sway with the top heavy load. Thank you,

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRTT350E is exactly what you will want to use on your 2002 Ford F-250 to haul your in-bed camper as they are designed for exactly this purpose and will take a lot of the sway out due to the higher center point as well as sag. There really is not a better system on the market for use with an in-bed camper. However, they will not increase the payload capacity of your vehicle nor will any aftermarket suspension enhancement system claim to do so. They are designed to help support the system you have now but in the eyes of the manufacturer, the weight capacities for your F-250 will remain unchanged for the life of the vehicle.

If the weight of the loaded camper exceeds the payload capacity of your vehicle then you will need get a different truck bed camper or new tow vehicle as previously stated, the weight capacities (payload) of your F-250 will remain unchanged in the eyes of the manufacturer.
