Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Video Transcript for Review of SuperSprings Intl Vehicle Suspension - Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement - SS79PV

Hi everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle. Now these are a custom fit application folks. I need you to double check the fit guide here at etrailer.com. On our homepage, there's a My Vehicle or Vehicle Information tab.

Enter things like year make and model, sub models, those kind of things, bed length. Make sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, helper springs, if you don't know, basically upgrade, in this case, your rear vehicle suspension, and they're gonna improve driver control and comfort by keeping your vehicle level when you're towing or hauling a heavy load. Now these help absorb bumps and shocks. They minimize sway.

They are what's called progressive load control, meaning the springs are gonna compress according to the weight of your cargo. So maybe you have a light load and they only compress a little bit, but then when you get a heavy load, they can compress as much as 80%. And they work independently of each other so they can compensate for off center loads. Maybe you got a camper in the bed of the truck or something of that nature. They are made of durable microcellular urethane.

They work in temperatures from a chilly negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit to a balmy 200 degrees Fahrenheit. They resist damage caused by oils, road salt, UV rays, and they minimize or they give you minimal lateral expansion, meaning these compress vertically instead of side to side, so they're not gonna be easily damaged when operating in the tight spaces under your vehicle. Now what I like about this kind of helper spring is there's no airbags, no air hoses, no compressor, no gauge in the cab to run and worry about. It's a one and done a simple no drill installation. It's utilizing your factory holes in the frames and your factory components.

Now that being said, you've got four spacer blocks in this kit that's gonna give you a maximum of two per side if needed. The instructions are gonna tell you for your year make and mode which one or ones or impossible, maybe none, that you're gonna use. These top plates that come with it and this top bar and all these screws. You're probably gonna use one or two of those screws, and the rest are just different lengths. Again, depending on the size of your vehicle, which one you need for your particular install. Now the weight capacity of these at 50% compression is 1400 pounds. And again, folks, these are the SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for your rear axle. I'm Steven, thanks for watching. And as always, stay safe while you're towing, please.

by:

Very easy to install. Will keep my Tundra from squatting too much when I tow.

by:

Added 2” spacers on each side so the Sumosprings touch my frame. Relatively easy to install, but centering on the frame was a challenge as the directions tell you to touch the wire harness bracket. I elected to be slightly off center so the bracket did touch to prevent movement and wire damage. Also, once initial installation is performed, you must remove to tighten, which is not in the directions. Overall, the ride has not changed at all and it helps eliminate the drop from my trailer. Highly recommend!
