We had a heavy snow last month and as we were trying to keep the weight from piling up on the top of our trailer I hit one of the roof vent covers with my broom and broke it. We covered the cracked vent cover with a bucket but now need to replace it. We are beginner trailer owners :

No worries. We carry trailer roof vent replacement lids and lots of other vent parts so we can get you squared away before the spring thaw. Most square trailer roof vents are 14 x 14-inch and the main thing to note on your original vent lid is the nature of the hinge on it. The photo I linked shows you the four basic types. Many vents use the continuous metal hinge type like Ventline lid # BV0534-00 which is a flat metal lid.
I mention this specific metal one as an example since you could replace a plastic lid with a metal one to avoid the concern of a repeat of the damage since this metal one will be a lot tougher. But if you want keep a translucent lid you certainly still can. For a translucent smoke lid you could use Camco part # CAM40148.
