Question:
We are in the process of developing a design for an ATV injured subject carrier. We have settled on needing a 4/110 hub and are thinking independent torsion spindles. Max load less than 1000#. We would sure appreciate an experts opinion and recommendations. Thank you

We unfortunately don't carry hubs compatible with the 4/110 bolt pattern as that is not standard for any trailers. My recommendation is to use the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - Straight Spindle - Wide Tires - 1,200 lbs # ASR1200S03. This will give you the independent suspension and allow you to dictate the width of the unit for your precise desires versus having a standard axle length. This does require a 2 inch square bar unless there is a cross brace in the location of the axle for support. The integrated grease zerk in these spindles will allow for easy maintenance.
Because you may be using this for off road applications, I recommend using a manual brake for the trailer using the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit w/ Parking Brakes - 10" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # K23-086-087-00 along with the cable assembly # T2385200. This will allow you to keep the trailer from moving when loading an injured subject.
Then you can use the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K along with wheel tire combinations like # AM30750.
If you don't want the brake assembly then the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84545BX is an option for those spindles.
If you don't need brakes there is also an alternative option of the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System with Hubs - 4 on 4 - Regular Tires - 1,200 lbs # A12RS440 will work well. You can then use a wider tire like the Kenda 18x8.50-8 Bias Golf Cart Tire with 8" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range B # AM90002 or the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range B # AM3H330. I've attached videos of all these options to assist. If this stirs more questions, let me know.
