Question:
I have a 2004 Chevy 2500HD Duramax with a factory 7 way trailer plug with an added gooseneck 7 way trailer plug and 4 way trailer plug and was looking to add a trailer brake controller and was wondering what controller and other parts would work best for my truck.

The brake controller I recommend for your 2004 Chevy 2500 is the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 because this brake controller senses the amount of braking your tow vehicle is applying and puts a proportional amount of braking on the trailer's brakes. It also has a display that uses full words instead of codes that would have to be deciphered. It's our best selling brake controller because of how well it works, how reliable it is, and how easy it is to use.
To install it in your truck you only need the install harness part # 3015-P which plugs into the back of the controller and then into the junction box you have under your truck's dash. I attached an install video for this controller and harness on a similar Silverado as yours for you to check out as well.
