Got a new truck, long bed will it work with a long bed truck.

Although a sliding hitch isn't needed on a long bed truck since you don't have to worry about cab clearance, there is no reason one like the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550034 can't be used on your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500. It will still work great on your new truck to provide you with an excellent connection with the trailer and an 18,000 pound towing weight capacity.

If your new Silverado is equipped with the factory puck system you will also need to add the Rail Adapter # DM6206, which will drop right into the pucks to provide industry standard rails that the Hijacker will mount to.

If you don't have the factory rail kit then you will need to add base rails with the Demco Hijacker Above-Bed Base Rails and Installation Kit # DM8552011-71.

I bought from a friend a Demco 5th wheel hitch #6077. Will this work ok with my GMC 3500 long bed truck? If so what part number do I need to get to mount it to the bed. Thanks.

The Demco part # DM6077 refers to just the head unit of the Hijacker hitch. Is this what you have? If so, can you tell me what model year your Sierra is and whether or not it has the factory puck system in the bed?

@GeorgeB Thanks for the info! So if you want to go with the under-bed setup (which is what I recommend to maintain a clean bed when you aren't towing) you'll need to add the Side Plates # DM6004 to your existing Hijacker Head unit plus the Under-Bed Rail Kit # DM8551004 to mount the hitch to your Sierra.
