The main difference between the Reese Quick-Install Custom Inboard Installation Kit part # RP50087-58 and the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit part # RP56034-53 is in regards to installation. The inboard rail kit uses frame brackets that attach to the base rails inside of the frame rail. The outboard kit uses frame brackets that attach to the base rails outside of the frame rail. The process of attaching the base rails to the frame brackets will be much easier if you can do so from outside the frame rail because you have much more room to work and can see what you are doing better. The inboard rail kits are typically more cost effective than the outboard rail kits though.
For your 2018 Ford F-150, I recommend using the Outboard Installation Kit part # RP56034-53 if you will be installing the kit yourself or the Inboard Installation Kit part # RP50087-58 if you will be having someone else do it for you. I have attached install videos on both processes for you in addition to a graphic of the frame brackets.
