How to Pick Out Slide Out Awning Fabric for RV

Question:
I have a 13foot slide out from edge to edge. Is it possible or smart to get a 14foot awning so I have 3inch overlap on both sides of the slide-out and are the slide-out mounting brackets long enough to mount due to the extended width?

The way Solera recommends we help people pick out the correct length slide topper is by measuring the width of the slide out including the flange on the box and using that figure. Trying to go with a longer awning won't fit or work at all unfortunately. If your box width is 146" to 151-3/4" then the 13 foot long awning part # LCV000165061 would be what you need.
